     This memorial website was created to remember Lawanda "Wanda" A. Hewitt who was born in Morristown, New Jersey on September 21, 1950 and passed away on August 6, 2008. She will live forever in our memories and hearts.

     Lawanada “Wanda” A. Hewitt, 57, of Peoria, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

     Wanda was born on September 21, 1950 in Morristown, NJ, a daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (Miller) McDonald. She married James “Jim” P. Hewitt on April 25, 1970 in Dover, NJ. He survives.

     She is also survived by her daughters, Wonny (Mike) McCoy of Peoria and Vicki (Jeff) Lee and Kristy Hewitt, all of Canton; four grandchildren; two brothers, Kenny McDonald and Patrick McDonald of Rockaway, NJ; and two sisters, Dorothy “Dotty” Harrsch of Denville, NJ and Anne McDonald of Dover, NJ.

     Wanda was a Certified Nurses Assistant and was employed through several local area nursing homes.

     Cremation rites have been accorded and private services will be held in New Jersey at a later date.

     Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate.

     Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with Clary Funeral Home in Peoria.

Dear Jimmy, Vicki, Wonny, Kristi, and Family,

 

I express my deepest condolences for the loss of such a wonderful wife and devoted mother.  Wanda was such a happy go lucky person and I shall always remember the happy times we had together when we were kids.  I am sure that my Mom and Dad were waiting for her with open arms.
